The History Museum, OR
The History Museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation and display of valuable documents, photographs and artifacts that reflect and portray the "story" of Hood River County and the Mid-Columbia area. Through exhibits, special events and educational programs the museum is a vital and active part of the community.
Every year visitors from every state in the nation and a handful of foreign countries arrive at the Museum. These visitors are greeted by caring volunteers who gladly give of their time to share the Museum and its treasures with others. Featured displays this year include:
- An exhibit of the Mt Hood Railroad Station in honor of it’s 100th anniversary

The Bunnell Collection of Native American beaded personal items created by local Native American Martha Alick

An exhibit honoring the local Japanese who were interned during World Was II, including oral interviews and personal artifacts from the internment camps
The Museum’s permanent collection includes artifacts from the local Native Americans, the early pioneers and their ethnic heritage, the fruit and logging industry, toys, the military, and the early days of windsurfing.
