Full Sail Brewing Company ,
OR
Full Sail Brewing Company is an employee-owned
brewery in Hood River, Oregon and was one of the first of
Oregon's microbreweries. Its products are distributed in fifteen
U.S. states.
In July 2003, Full Sail began brewing three beers for SABMiller
under the almost 150 year-old Henry Weinhard's brand: Henry
Weinhard's Hefeweizen, Northwest Trail Blonde Lager, and Amber
Light. SABMiller had purchased the brands from Stroh's in
1999, and for a few years had moved their production to its
Tumwater, Washington brewery until it closed that location
in 2003. Though it does not have stock in Full Sail, SABMiller
did make capital investments in the brewery as part of the
agreement.
The Full Sail brewery is known for its quality
micro brewed beers most notably its trademark amber ale. Full
Sail is located in the Columbia Gorge in the town of Hood
River, which looks up at the popular Oregon mountain Mount
Hood. Full Sail is centrally located in the quiet downtown
area of Hood River. The brewery is two stories with the actual
breweries on the bottom floor and a variety of Full Sail micro
brews served on tap on the brewery's second floor. The second
floor of the Full Sail Brewery is a desirable eatery frequented
by the locals and tourists alike who come to enjoy the distinctive
Full Sail beers as well as tasteful barbecue that is served
during lunch and dinner hours. The brewery's second floor
is also equipped with an outdoor deck which is a popular summer
spot for locals to hang out and enjoy an enticing view of
the Columbia River while having one of the brewery's tasty
beers.
The Full Sail brewery has earned many distinguished honors
in recognition for the taste of many of their quality beers.
These honors include:
· Ten Gold Medals for its trademark Amber Ale at the
World Beer Championships.
· A Bronze Medal for its newly released lager.
