Fruit basket products consist of three collections: our Northwest Collection Fruit Baskets are a celebration of the Pacific Northwest's finest, packed with a smorgasbord of premium fruit and gourmet delights. The Bountiful Collection Fruit Baskets are our signature fruit baskets. These handmade fruit basket selections are woven wicker with dark rope bottoms filled with our favorite fruits and gourmet items. Lastly, our Orchard Collection Fruit Baskets celebrate our region’s abundance. From the blossoms of the trees to our continual harvest, these baskets consist of fruit, fruit, and more fruit.

Our Fruit Cheesecake selections are made with only the freshest ingredients, each baked with 2 lbs. of real cream cheese mixed into our famous New York cheesecake batter. Our cheesecakes are then fresh-cooled and rushed from our bakery to your doorstep in a special cool-pack container to ensure the tastiest cheesecake around!

For three generations the Webster family and The Fruit Company have been bringing the nation the World’s Finest Fruit™, grown primarily in the lush Hood River Valley of northern Oregon.

The Fruit Company’s roots extend back to 1942, when Roy Webster founded Webster Orchards and began delivering extraordinary pears and apples to the region. In fact he initiated a mail-order service that sent Webster pears and apples, or as he called them, “Oregon Gems” and “Oregon Beauties” for $7.50 a bushel. An old catalog we found boasts, “Our aim is to do everything possible to elicit expressions of genuine pleasure from your orchards and began delivering extraordinary pears and apples to the region. In fact he initiated a mail-order service that sent Webster pears and apples, or as he called them, “Oregon Gems” and “Oregon Beauties” for $7.50 a bushel. An old catalog we found boasts, “Our aim is to do everything possible to elicit expressions of genuine pleasure from your friends for the gift fruit we send them.” 65 years later that sentiment hasn’t changed.

Roy’s grandsons Scott and Addison grew up in the family business of growing fruit. After leaving the valley to pursue their academic and professional careers, they both returned with the same vision of expanding the Webster Orchard venture. They set up shop in their mother’s house. The early version of The Fruit Company’s office was in her basement; the first production floor got its start in her garage. It was rustic and simple, but they believed enough in the superior quality of their fruit and their combined business know-how to persevere.

A large opportunity came knocking when the old Diamond Fruit packing warehouse went up for sale. The building was perfect—161,000 square feet of an original timber building from their grandfather’s era, nestled amongst the valley’s orchards and hills. From the front door you can see Mt. Hood framed by pear trees, and from the roof you have an excellent vantage of the valley and Washington’s statuesque Mt. Adams. Scott and Addison thusly moved The Fruit Company to 2900 Van Horn Drive, and the rest is fruitful history.

A humble beginning with a grand future. The Fruit Company has had incredible growth since those first days in Mrs. Webster’s basement. Today The Fruit Company does much of its business through online orders, compared to their grandfather’s first mail-order catalog. While receiving outstanding attention from Oprah Winfrey’s “O” Magazine and the top consumer reporting magazine, The Fruit Company is also one of the top 15 growing companies in Oregon and part of Internet Retailer’s Top 50 “Best of the Web.” Scott acts as President and CEO, while Addison is CFO of The Fruit Company and CEO of Webster Orchards, which still provides much of the fruit going into The Fruit Company’s gourmet gift baskets, towers, and boxes.

Plans for expansion into the rest of the building are underway. Tourism is an important facet of The Fruit Company; not only does the company offer enjoyable Orchard and Warehouse Tours, it also boasts the early stages of the Fruit Heritage Museum, which honors the legacy of Roy Webster and all the other early agriculturalists in the Hood River Valley.
